Moving to TEXAS!

My husband finally finished his schooling at Brigham Young University, and found a great job in Lake Jackson, TX working with Dow Chemicals. So... we are moving our home of close the 13 years in Utah to a brand new state we know nothing about. We are all excited of the move and experience a new culture, but will miss our friends and family. As for me, I will miss my dancing network/ community.
I am still planning on flying down to work with Body Logic to set pieces on them and guest in various shows.

"Uncovered"

We performed our show "Uncovered" Friday 8th and Saturday 9th of April. It was a wonderful show. We had a pretty good turn out. So many people came that we filled the space and actually made a revenue. Yeah! I am so proud of all the girls. It was a lot of hard work and dedication to put a show together. But we did it, and we were awesome. I am eager to get started on our next one.

Here are a couple shots from a few of the pieces:

"Cassandra" choreographed by Angela Banchero-Kelleher,
a former Repertory Dance Theater dancer.

"Creatures of Habit"- Choreographed by Claire Bagley,
Body Logic Dance Company member.

"Terminal Velocity"- Choreographed by me!

"Baby is Here"

After much wait and anticipation Kia Ora is finally here. She was scheduled to be induced on her actual due date, July 28th, 2010. I had tried so hard the past 3 weeks to get her to come early by walking a lot, push-ups, teaching hip-hop, curb walking, cleaning house/car/car/house...you name it. Nothing!

Finally Wednesday morning around 1 am I started having mild contractions. Kia Ora was born at 8:46 am that very day. She was 7 lbs 12 oz, and 20" long. She is a little cutie.

Body Logic Dance Company

A couple of girls from my graduating class at UVU are starting our own dance company. It is scary and very exciting all at the same time. We are a group of 9 dancers, each with responsibilities to help promote, raise funding, finding venues.... We are moving a long quite fast for such a new company of just a few months.

Make sure to check us out at http://bodylogicdance.blogspot.com/

It's a...

Yap! That is right we are expecting, and it's a girl! I am so thrilled for our family to grow and be joined by a girl who I can dance with. She is expecting to arrive on July 28th.

"You are Here"

Tonight was yet again the last night of concert. It is always hard for a concert to be over, especially after rehearsing, and working so hard at perfecting dances for so long. And within the blink of an eye (about 5-10 minutes on stage, per dance) it is all over.

How it started! Well, about two months or so ago, a BYU/ UVU professor, the awesome Arwen Rogers, contacted me about a dance concert she was putting together, and the interest she had in having me be a part of it. I was of course so excited to have the opportunity to work with her, but most of all have the opportunity to dance, rehearse, and perform.

I was able to be in two of Arwen's pieces "Sports Page" which is based on the photos from the sports pages of a news paper (with the awesome facial expressions). That piece was HILARIOUS to do. I really had fun, and it pushed me do be goofy on stage which is not my "forte."

The second piece was called "Lean Back" which was about a time in your life when you feel like you need support from another individual. During this piece, I had an awesome solo at the beginning, it was actually my favorite part of the dance to do.
